It’s amazing how the word sex attracts so much attention. Is it the word itself or that it has an x in it?
Other words like Sox, Axe, and the company Dex all seem to catch your attention in ways other words do not.
After reading a few books on subliminal suggestive ads a few months ago I have been paying close attention to ads. People even email me new items that they find. For instance, this one just smacks you in the face: http://www.geeknative.com/18729/disney-hides-sex-in-tangled/
The other night I dug out the Black & Decker juicer that has been hidden in a cabinet to hopefully start using it.
I loved how the box showed the desired result of almost a full glass of juice, and absolutely no mess. This caused me to look even further since this is NOT the outcome of even juicing a single carrot. There is considerable amount of mutilated food carcass on the inside of the clear parts when used.
The confusing part is the absolutely random floating cup that can be partly seen in the middle of the box. This cup has a sparkling clear liquid in it, some ice, and an orange slice, certainly not something that has to do with the juicer, or a desired result from this or any juicer.
Now knowing where this post started I’m sure you want to conclusion, which I’ll give to you in 2 parts so you can search for yourself.
And Random Glass Highlighted:
You have to ask yourself, does hiding the word Sex in plain sight really equate to many more sales. I would have to guess yes since companies like Disney and Black & Decker are willing to take the risk, even after they get exposed for using these tactics over and over again.
